I mentioned we do not have the date set for our move just yet. Well, of course, there is a story.
When David and I looked at moving the shop, we both agreed we would not do the extensive remodeling we did for our current location. We would have to find a place we liked that didn't require his time & talents. Then I found this great space. Smaller, lots of potential...and in need of a little sprucing up. So, I called in reinforcements the girls. I brought Michelle and Nancy along for the final walk through. I wanted to get their vote and see if we could persuade my wonderful husband to pick up the tools for Spirit Work one more time...
So here is picture #1. David and Michelle are on the first floor discussing some changes and improvements Michelle thought of doing:
And - yes - that is David headed for the door. Luckily, he returned with an open mind. And then he got down to the really, really important stuff: the location of our checkout counter and register. He built the existing checkout counter to withstand earthquakes of 6.0 or higher, spontaneous volcanic eruptions and incredibly large yarn purchases. The thing is crazy heavy, sturdy and big. And since David built it, we knew there would be no move if the checkout counter did not fit.
With the precision of a crime scene investigator, David mapped out the exact position and dimensions of the counter. The gods had spoken, the counter fit and Spirit Work was moving! More pictures to follow...
